YMCA of Snohomish County Kicks Off 2024 Community Campaign

Everett, WA. February 21, 2024 – The YMCA of Snohomish County kicked off its 2024 Community Campaign this week with a fundraising goal of $1.4 million. Community Campaign is the largest fundraising effort of the year, inspiring volunteers to campaign on behalf of the Y. Dollars raised will provide financial assistance so everyone in the community can access YMCA membership, programs and services.

Kristin Meadows, Community Campaign Chair, Board of Trustees, supports the campaign because of how important the Y is to her family and community. “The Y has given so much to my family, so it’s a privilege to give back,” said Meadows. “Every person should have access to the kindness, the love, and the community of the Y, regardless of their financial circumstances. This campaign is about removing barriers and that is why I give my time and why I will always support the Y.”

This year’s county-wide campaign commitment focuses on four major initiatives, including:

  • Youth Development: Through campaign support, the Y will bring programs, mentorship, and a safe space to more than 46,000 Snohomish County youth.
  • Seniors Combating Isolation: Our Y community will create a welcoming environment for more than 38,000 seniors and active older adults, inviting every person to feel a sense of belonging.
  • The Power of Community: More than 137,000 of our neighbors will visit the Y 1,425,000+ times this year. Financial support ensures that all in our community can experience achievement, belonging, and friendship offered by membership at the Y.
  • Affordable, Accessible Child Care: Snohomish County is in critical need of more high quality, engaging, and affordable child care. Through the power of our Y community and donor support, we’re working to meet this need. The Y will serve over 1,800 youth, ensuring families can work knowing their child is in a safe, nurturing environment.

All funds raised during Community Campaign directly benefit the YMCA of Snohomish County and its programs and services.

“We have a large goal because there is a large need,” said Peyton Tune, President and CEO, YMCA of Snohomish County. “Our focus this year is Raising Dollars to Remove Barriers. We have assembled a phenomenal, motivated team who is ready to tackle the goal, allowing everyone in our community access to the Y.”
