Rookie and Youth Outdoor Soccer

Age Divisions: 3-4, 5-6, 7-8
This sport provides players with skill building activities in a variety of subjects such as passing, dribbling, shooting, and defense. Different sized soccer balls and field sizes are used for each age group offered. Games and practices take place at many local fields in the area.

First Practice Week: September 6-10
First Game: September 18


Rookie Floor Hockey

Age Divisions: 3-4, 5-6

Kids are given a chance to learn how to play hockey without ice or pads. Players learn the basic skills of passing, stick handling, shooting, defense and teamwork. Scoring is the name of the game as all players have a chance to score from anywhere on the court at anytime. Offensive and defensive players are on separate sides of the court, allowing for more open space and movement.

 

Registration: September 11-October 2

Rosters Released: October 11-13
First Practice Week: October 18-22

Fee:      YMCA Member $50

Rookie & Youth Basketball

Age Divisions: 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10
This program provides the opportunity to learn fundamental basketball skills. All participants are given the opportunity to play equal lengths of time during games. The hoop heights and basketball sizes change as the players become older, allowing for easier progression. 

 

Registration: November 13-December 4

First Practice Week: January 3-7
Fee:      YMCA Member $65

            Program Member $85


Rookie & Youth Indoor Soccer

Age Divisions: 3-4, 5-6, 7-8

Children gain fundamental skills in passing, dribbling, defense, and shooting. It’s fast-paced, has lots of scoring, and is fun for all players.  The 3-4 and 5-6 year old divisions play games on short courts; the others use the whole gym.

 

Registration:  Late January or early February 2011

First Game: Early March


Rookie Spring T-Ball

Age Divisions: 3-4, 5-6

This program gives young kids the opportunity to participate in learning how to play baseball. Skills include hitting, throwing, catching, running bases, and positioning. All players receive equal at-bats, and the chance to play every defensive position by the end of the season. 

 

Registration:  April / May 2011
First Game: Mid-June 2011

If you register online, you will receive an emailed Online Information Form in 2-3 business days. Use this form to request buddies, coaches, and/or practice times. Turn this in to Member Services as soon as possible.
