Vision
Reduce the trauma of homelessness for children and families in the shelter and housing network for Snohomish County by coordinating with housing providers, community organizations and volunteers to create a sustainable umbrella of services.
Program Goals
1. Create a sustainable umbrella of services for children aged 0-17 years.
2. Focus on areas determined to have the highest impact:
- Gross motor development
- Tutoring / mentoring
- Literacy skills
- Family interactive activities
- Summer camp
- Grief support
- Children of alcoholics support group
- Arts and enrichment
- Computer and technology education
- Teen leadership training
3. Mobilize community resources.
4. Help families in crisis to refocus attention on their children.
5. Provide environments where children feel safe enough to be open to activities that promote brain development and healthy growth.
6. Understand the shelter and housing network from the child’s point of view, and support children and teens through their entire experience in the housing system.
