Many classes are included in your YMCA membership.  Review your respective branch gym schedule or contact a member services representative if questions.


Boot Camp

A high-energy class using drills of interval activity. Activities may include jump rope, crunches, push-ups and running stairs. The workout will increase your metabolism, help to build muscular strength and endurance, and reduce body fat. A basic but fun workout for all levels.

 

Cardio Combo

A combination of floor and step aerobics.  his is a great class for those who like variety in their exercise routine.

 

Cardio Kickboxing

Kick it with this current fitness craze! Boxing and martial arts combine in this high-energy, stress-busting cardio class.  Kick, jab and punch your way to overall wellness through our interval workout designed to increase balance and control, while developing internal focus.

 

Circuit Training

This class is designed to take the participant through a one-hour program consisting of stations, set up for specific muscular strength and endurance exercises as well as cardio-vascular conditioning.

 

Group Cycling
Join us for the ride of your life. Group cycling is an indoor, stationary cycling program taught by certified group cycling instructors. The class involves upbeat, motivating music, group camaraderie, and brings elements of athletic training to people of all ages and wellness levels.

Hi/Lo Aerobics

This class uses a combination of high intensity, low impact choreography. Aerobic circuits may be incorporated in this class one day a week. The emphasis is on cardiovascular wellness, muscular endurance, and flexibility.

 

Interval Training

This total body workout combines cardiovascular elements using the floor, step or circuits along with intervals of strength conditioning using anything from weights and bands, to medicine and stability balls to help improve muscular strength and endurance.

 

One-on-One Personal Training

Personal training is geared for those wanting individual attention and extra motivation. Our YMCA certified staff will develop an individual workout that is both safe and effective for you.  Contact your local YMCA to schedule an appointment.


Personal Pace

An energetic yet gentle class ideal for active older adults, beginning exercisers, or those who need injury rehabilitation. This format offers low impact aerobic activity and light strength training using balls, tubing, hand weights and callisthenic exercises. This class also offers an enjoyable social atmosphere, evident not only during class, but in special events, such as pot-lucks and field trips shared by the group.

 

Reebok Core Training

Reebok core training is a multi-axial training on an unstable surface. Utilizing the Reebok Core Boards, this class will focus on improving body awareness, posture, balance and economy of movement through a sports conditioning style workout.

 

Ski Fitness

A circuit style class that focuses on agility, conditioning, speed, strength and flexibility to promote or maintain wellness specific to skiing and snowboarding.

 

Senior Aerobics

This class includes warming up, stretching, strength training, and gentle continuous movement activities.

 

Sports Conditioning

Uses athletic agility drills that will get your heart pumping. A fun way to get a solid cardiovascular workout and incorporate strength and conditioning moves.

 

Stability Ball

Discover the new and challenging way to develop strength and endurance, using your body's mechanics and a stability ball. The dynamic nature of the ball challenges your core stabilization, balance and flexibility, while adding an element of fun to the workout.

 

Step Aerobics

This high-energy, low impact step class is designed for the intermediate exerciser. Class format utilizes a 4, 6, or 8-inch platform and provides basic patterns that incorporate high intensity power movements and challenging choreography. Step your way through this quick, but fun workout.

 

Step Circuit

This class incorporates interval training with step and weight training. This class concludes with a 15 minute abdominal and back exercise regime.
