A community groundbreaking celebration for the Stanwood-Camano YMCA is scheduled for June 27 from 1-4 pm at the building site located at 7213 267th Street NW, Stanwood.
“We might as well stop calling it Resilience Fitness,” said Scott Sadler, vice president and chief development officer for YMCA (now called the Y) of Snohomish County.
City council agreed Thursday to contribute up to $50,000 toward the construction of the new YMCA facility in Stanwood.
Since 2012, the YMCA has helped more than 1,000 youth in the Stanwood-Camano community by providing summer activities, social time, service programs, homework help, college information, and career development.
