Lifeguard Certification Course

This course is designed to provide the participants with the knowledge and skills  needed to be a lifeguard and professional rescuer. Participants will be certified in CPR Pro for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen Administration. The course presents information on the skills and knowledge lifeguards need in pool, lake, river, surf and water park environments. The comprehensive course offers up-to-date information on how to lifeguard by anticipating and preventing problems before they occur and by taking action to help those in danger when necessary. The course also covers safety skills, accident prevention, scanning, guarding techniques, Emergency systems, rescue skills, first aid in aquatic environments, spinal injury management, open water dangers, legal responsibilities, pool management and  information on how to get a job as a lifeguard.

Check off activities on your tracker as you finish them. Complete 25 or more activities and you will be entered into a drawing for a  $25  Y credit to be used toward another program of your choice (Ex: Swim lessons, martial arts, personal training, etc.)

Miracle League Basebal

Miracle League Baseball is designed for individuals requiring additional assistance playing baseball. Players needing assistance will be matched with a buddy.

Senior Trip: Father's Day Sky Show

Join us for the Father’s Day weekend Sky Show! The Flying Heritage Collection of amazing aircrafts will take to the skies! FHC’s Legendary Aircraft that will be flying: The Focke-Wulf FW 190,  The Big and Burley P-47, The Mighty Spitfire, and The Famous Japanese Zero.

Gettin' Crafty with Ben Franklin Crafts

Join us every first Thursday of the month, for Getting’ Crafty with Ben Franklin Crafts and Frame Shop. Each month a Ben Franklin Employee will come into the Youth Development Center to teach and provide supplies to make a craft. Let your imagination run wild with craftiness!

Whats Happening in

our Aquatics program

The Monroe/Sky Valley Family YMCA offers a wide variety of aquatic programs, including: swim lessons (private and group), water fitness classes, master swim for adults, kids swim team, open swim, Sky Valley swimming, Adaptive swim and much more.

Swim Lessons
Teaching kids to learn how to swim is our specialty. We offer classes as young as 6 months up, teens and adults too, this is a life skill everyone should have.

Master Swim
This is for anyone who is interested in improving your stroke, technique and endurance while participating in a friendly swim team atmosphere. This class is offered, as a part of your membership, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 5:30-7am.

Swim Team
Swim team offers youth an opportunity to learn about swimming as a sport while having fun and encouraging sportsmanship. Call or come in today to find out more information.

Sky Valley Swim
Does your child attend Sky Valley and are you looking for additional physical fitness opportunities? Come to the Y and swim with us. We have designated times just for you and your family. Call us today to find out more information.

Adaptive Swim
Specially design classes for kids with special needs.
